Hosting a morning-after brunch: a low-effort way to extend the celebration
A morning-after brunch has become a common third event for weddings with a lot of out-of-town guests, giving people a reason to linger one more morning rather than scattering immediately after the reception ends the night before.
Keep expectations low
This isn't a formal event, and treating it like one defeats the purpose. A simple spread at a hotel, a casual restaurant reservation, or even a relaxed gathering in someone's backyard all work fine. Guests will be tired, and so will you.
You don't have to host it yourself
It's completely acceptable to simply suggest a time and place and let guests self-organize, rather than the couple personally hosting a third event on top of an exhausting wedding weekend. A group message the day before with a suggested spot often works just as well as a formal invitation.
Keep the menu simple
Coffee, pastries, and a light spread is plenty. Nobody expects or particularly wants an elaborate meal the morning after a late wedding reception, and a simpler spread means less for you to plan on top of everything else.
