A bridal trial is often treated as a fun preview appointment rather than what it actually is: your one real opportunity to adjust a look before the day it matters most, when there's no time to make changes. Going in with a plan gets you a noticeably better result than going in and hoping it works out.

Bring real reference photos, not just Pinterest inspiration

Photos of your own hair texture and face shape, styled in ways you've genuinely liked in the past, are more useful to a stylist than aspirational photos of a completely different hair type or face shape. If you have a photo of a look you loved on yourself before, bring that over a stranger's Pinterest photo every time.

Wear white or a light color to the trial
