If you're planning to start a family soon, here's how that changes your honeymoon plan
This isn't a suggestion to plan a pregnancy around a trip, that's not how pregnancy works and everyone knows it. It's a smaller, more practical point: if starting a family is somewhere on your near-term horizon, a few honeymoon choices are worth making with that in mind, mostly around what you'd regret skipping.
Front-load the things that get harder later
Scuba certification, long-haul flights to somewhere with limited medical infrastructure, high-altitude trekking, and destinations with active travel health warnings around pregnancy (Zika-risk regions being the most cited example) are all considerably easier to do now than with a baby, or while pregnant, or in the early years of parenting. If any of these are on your honeymoon wish list, this is one of the easier windows to do them in.
Don't let this pressure you into overspending
"This might be our last trip just the two of us for years" is a real feeling and also a genuinely persuasive sales pitch that travel companies lean on hard. It's fine to feel it. It's not a good reason to blow well past your actual budget on the theory that you're buying something irreplaceable, plenty of couples take plenty of trips together after having kids too, just different kinds of trips.
If you are pregnant already
Check destination-specific guidance on vaccinations, altitude, and medical care access before booking anything, ideally with your own doctor rather than general travel forums. Some couples specifically choose a closer, more medically well-resourced destination for this reason, and there's no reason that has to feel like a downgrade rather than just a different, still good trip.
